EVLA (Endovenous Laser Ablation)
EVLA (Endovenous Laser Ablation)
Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA) is a modern, minimally invasive procedure used to treat varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency. Varicose veins occur when vein valves weaken, causing blood to pool and veins to enlarge, leading to leg pain, swelling, heaviness, skin discoloration, and visible twisted veins. If left untreated, the condition may progress to skin ulcers and chronic discomfort.
EVLA uses laser energy delivered through a thin fiber inserted into the affected vein under ultrasound guidance. The laser seals the faulty vein, redirecting blood flow to healthier veins. Over time, the treated vein is absorbed by the body. This procedure is performed under local anesthesia and usually takes less than an hour.
Compared to traditional vein stripping surgery, EVLA offers minimal discomfort, no major incisions, faster recovery, and excellent cosmetic results. Patients can walk immediately after the procedure and return to normal activities within a short time. Compression stockings and follow-up care are recommended to optimize healing and circulation.
Our vascular specialists ensure precise diagnosis using Doppler ultrasound and provide personalized treatment plans. EVLA is a safe, effective, and long-lasting solution that relieves symptoms and improves both vascular health and appearance.
