Nephrectomy Pyeloplasty

AB Life Care Hospital

Nephrectomy & Pyeloplasty

Nephrectomy and pyeloplasty are important urological surgeries performed to treat various kidney-related conditions. These procedures are carried out using advanced techniques to ensure safety, precision, and faster recovery for patients.

Nephrectomy (Kidney Removal):

Nephrectomy is a surgical procedure to remove part or all of a kidney. It is commonly performed in cases of kidney tumors, severe infections, non-functioning kidneys, or trauma. Depending on the condition, the surgery may be done as a partial nephrectomy (removing only the affected portion) or a radical nephrectomy (removal of the entire kidney). Modern nephrectomy is often performed using laparoscopic or minimally invasive techniques, resulting in less pain, smaller incisions, and quicker recovery.

Pyeloplasty (Correction of Urinary Obstruction):

Pyeloplasty is a reconstructive surgery used to treat ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) obstruction, a condition where the flow of urine from the kidney to the ureter is blocked. This obstruction can lead to pain, infections, or kidney damage if left untreated. During the procedure, the narrowed or blocked segment is removed, and the healthy parts are reconnected to restore normal urine flow. Pyeloplasty is commonly performed using laparoscopic or robotic-assisted methods, ensuring high success rates and minimal complications. Both nephrectomy and pyeloplasty are essential procedures in urology, aimed at preserving kidney function, relieving symptoms, and improving overall patient health with advanced and patient-friendly surgical approaches.
